Mind Your Manners When Using Your Cellular Phone

By Billy Moss

Over the years, using the cellular phone has dramatically increased. It could be because of certain advantages that people have come to realize, like being able to call anyone, anywhere you are. Cellular phones are now more affordable because of its mass production. There are models and brands of different varieties and they can suit any budget.

However, you'll notice that not everyone practices proper etiquette of using these devices. Unacceptable are what manners are becoming. Others are disturbed by the constant ringing of mobile phones. In public performances, weddings, meetings, interviews, and even places of worship you'll hear phones ringing. When people use their cellular phones, they become increasingly impolite. There are even people who talk in loud voices and others can overhear their conversation in return.

People should learn manners when they use their mobile devices. Put your cellular phone in silent mode or turn it off when you're at a meeting, class, or dinner so others won't be disrupted. Most mobile devices are equipped with caller id and missed calls are registered. There's no need to worry about not being able to return a call. Excuse yourself if it's an important call and go to an isolated area to take it.

Don't take calls when you're in certain places like theaters, places of worship, concerts, libraries, and museums. Make sure your ring tones are not loud so people won't get annoyed. Lower your voice when you're making calls. Your affairs are your business and others aren't really interested in knowing about them. At work, be sure you're aware of the company's regulations about the use of cellular phones. It is important that you do not use your mobile phone when not allowed to so as to avoid being reprimanded.

When it comes to using cell phones, there should be an increase in good manners and proper etiquette.
