By Martin Elmer

Doro 326i might just take you by surprise. They are simple and extremely basic. In the age of sleek and technologically advanced phones, Doro 326i looks nothing but a toy. What is even more surprising is that there is a good deal of takers for these phones.

Usual mobile phone companies especially target the young and the working people. Where as Doro's target audience are the senior citizens and people with vision and hearing problems. This calls for their handsets to be especially designed; according the need of their customers.

326i GSM is one of the most selling mobiles of Doro HandPlus product line. These phones have a bulky keypad with big black keys. Also the numbers printed on the buttons are bigger in size and of contrasting bright white color. This is to help people with weak eye-sight to see comfortably.

Doro shows it sensitivity towards the needs of the elderly with small touches such as the large font used in the manual and the sticker that can be pasted on the battery to note important numbers.

The Doro 326i also has a soft touch coating over its tough plastic body, 4 memory keys marked A-D, call timer and a host of other features.

Third is the menu. Now because it is a very basic phone with very few features, the menu arrangement is very simple. Fourth are the memory keys. There are four memory keys on the handsets. Each key can be pre-programmed to a certain number. So, you can save four very important numbers, one to each button.

Lastly, the display; the screen is fairly big and has large font display with high contrast. This makes the numbers and alphabets easily visible to people with poor eye-sight.
