I have used other internet securities in the past, but Norton puts the icing on the cake! I simply love it and will continue to buy it in the in the near future. Most times, issues have been due to non-removal of other/earlier versions of Norton software. The recent improvements in installation are continuing to be great.
I would recommend to anyone. I think that Norton is the best internet security program on the market at the moment. I have had about 4 instances of virus and Norton cleaned up each one with no problems. Also, I have noticed no slowdown in my computer after switching to Norton.
I am a long-time user of Norton's products, and am well satisfied with Internet Security. I spend a lot of time online, and have not had any problems. But, on the recommendation of someone I trust on these matters, I purchased and installed this latest version. I've had it on my laptop for a few months and I'm impressed. Unfortunately, I find that the known bad sites are among the top few that pop up when doing a search. Without NIS, I would certainly have selected some of those bad sites had there not be the NIS warning.
I cannot even add the one cookie to the exclude list in some other way (I confirmed this with NIS support).
Another time I was seeing file-transfer slowdowns to a mapped network drive; support "chatted" me through a few exclusions, and the transfers went back to normal speeds. When I see NIS on sale here for around $36, I just go ahead and buy it for next year's renewal. I never even know when it's updating. It leaves me alone. The Network section covers the firewall, network and email intrusion. The Web section covers safe web browsing, including Identity Safe, which allows you to store passwords/logins for websites.
Definitely don't even consider buying this until the problem is known to be fixed. I always use to hate Norton antivirus products until a couple years ago when I read excellent reviews about their Internet Security package. Norton was installed with a 180-day trial on a netbook I bought a few years ago. Since then I've become a convert. I like that once I have identified a topic to search, it identifies most sites as known safe ones or that there are known threats. Some sites NIS cannot rate but I very much like that it provides obvious warning to known problem sites and identifies the number and types of threats. And I have to say, this thing is the best antivirus I ever used. I used quite a few already, and none come close to how smooth - and above all, discreet this thing is.
